ITS WEDNESDAY--TURKEY DAY EVE
TIME TO GET TOWNED!
The big A&E newz story coming from the ILLI and MO was St. Louis Cards first baseman Albert Pujols winning his third National League MVP award Tuesday putting him in elite territory. Pujols won unanimously, becoming the first player to repeat since Bonds won four in a row in 2001-04.
Pujols, who also won in 2005, received all 32 first-place votes and 448 points in balloting announced by the Baseball Writers' Assn. of America. He became the first unanimous MVP since Bonds in 2002. Pujols, who also tied St. Louis Cards legend Stan Musial for the number of MVPs won, led the majors in home runs (47), runs (124), slugging percentage (.658) and intentional walks (44), and topped the NL in on-base percentage (.443). He was second in the NL in doubles (45) and third in batting average (.327) and RBIs (135).
At the press conference at Busch Satdium When asked if he will stay on the team he said “This is my place. This is where I want to be. I don't hide that," Pujols said at Busch Stadium during a news conference Tuesday. "I'm still going to be a Cardinal for two more years and hopefully 15 more years — if I can play for that long — and retire as a Cardinal."
When asked about winning another championship he quipped, "I've got 10 fingers," he said. "I need nine more."
Wow, he pretty much has the ST. Louis Cards by the balls—literally. LOL
++++++++++++++++++++++++
In unrelated Cards newz, newly appointed bat coach and former player Mark McGwire has yet to set a press conference about his new gig since manager Tony LaRussa chose him a month ago. Hmm, wonder why?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The big entertainment newz story was Chi-town’s talk show queen Oprah Winfrey announcing last Friday on her talk show that she will end her daytime talk show when her contract expires in the fall of 2011 making it 25 years since debuting with her show in 1986. Four months after her retirement from the show, she’s going to run her won network, the Oprah Winfrey Network partnering with the Discovery Channel.. It was to have a suspected that she will move her show to that network as well.
What’s next? Oprah World???
In other sports and Chi-town newz, Chicago Bears wide receiver and return specialist Devon Hester got depantsed Sunday during a game with the Eagles as Chicago’s QB Jay Cutler gave an incomplete pass to Hester one minute left till the Bars loss to the Eagles. As Hester received the pass and was tackled the world got a glimpse of his butt. Now what;s oddly enough, there was an instant replay with the "full moon" view shown with no censor. Talk about a Bear gettin bared. LOL

During the St. Louis Rams v Arizona Cardinals game at Edward Jones Dome last Sudnay there were a few hits and misses (beside the loss from the Rams 21-13). The Rams’ QB Marc Bulger was taken out of the game after fracturing his left leg after the team's final possession on a sack. As a result, he will miss at least three weeks during his recovery which will probably end his playing with the team this season.
The Rams’ RB Steven Jackson broke the 1,000 yard mark in rushing yards for the fifth season in a row, which is a new record for the Rams. Soon after, Jackson suffered a "muscle strain" in his back which was not season threatening according to reports. In unrelated Jackson news, he, along with STL Comptroller Darlene Green, addressed guests with motivational speeches Tuesday at homeless shelter Almost Home’s Thanksgiving Dinner prior to its dinner.
Also during the Rams v Cardinals game, former STL Rams QB Kurt Warner suffered a mild concussion from a blow to the head in the second half of the game causing his dismissal. Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said the quarterback was "very upbeat and alert" but as of today, , Warner's availability to practice this week or play will depend on how he does in the mandatory "baseline test" of his cognitive functions which will be done this week
BOB GIBSON
WHITEY HERZOG
STAN MUSIAL
LOU BROCK

JACKIE JOYNER KERSEE
In others ports newz, the greatest collection of St. Louis sports legends gathered for the enshrinement of the first class of the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame that took place at the Millennium Hotel in St. Louis on November 18. Some of the 24 inducted were Stan Musial, Whitey Herzog, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Dan Dierdorf, and Jackie Joyner Kersee .
In other Chi-town newz, Award winning singer/actress Jennifer Hudson signed on to play the political activist Winnie Mandela in an upcoming biopic. South African film-maker Darrell Roodt will direct the film. His work also includes world-renowned films Cry, The Beloved Country and Sarafina. Also, Hudson was the star attraction performing at President Obama's first White House state dinner where he hosted the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from India Tuesday night in a tent on the White House South Lawn. Also performing were “Slumdog Millionaire” composer A.R. Rahma, Kurt Elling, a Grammy-winning jazz singer and composer, and the National Symphony Orchestra, with Marvin Hamlisch conducting.
It was reported recently that St. Louis native model/mogul Kimora Lee Simmons will become a judge on the 14th Cycle of Tyra Banks’ America's Next Top Model (Vogue editor-at-large and fashion show staple Andre Leon Talley is also on board replacing judge Miss J who will serve as the show’s runway coach). Simmons, who squashed rumors that Tyra and Kimora were one rivals, was a panel judge during the show’s first cycle in May 2003
Cycle 14 of ANTM will start airing in early 2010. We hear that the reason for the change is because of the show’s fledgling ratings.
The cast of Jamie Foxx’s Sirrius Radio Show Foxxhole broadcast live from St. Louis at Exo Nightclub last Saturday as part of the show’s Live Radio Tour. Its star personality Foxx did not appear live (he was seen on screen via satellite) but the regular personalities who attended were model Claudia Jordan, comedians TDP, Speedy Lewis Dix and Johnny Mack and news woman/rapper Poetess were there. Some of the topics the group talked about during the three hour show were St. Louis based including St. Louis coming in second in STDs, the Independence, Mo. Native woman receiving a year probation and four days in jail after assaulting a cop in Wal-mart, and famous people who lived or were raised in the area.
