OUT 720--STL-TIDBITZ (UPDATES ADDED)

HELLO OUTTOWNERS!-ITS WEDNESDAY--TIME TO GET TOWNED! Before we get into the A&E newz going on in the ILLI and MO, As we honor the veterans who are in the armed forces, also remember those who have served and died in their deployment in the armed services. Also, veterans of any line of employment when the years are two or more.

IN THE NEWZ:
The biggest news story this week was the recent photos that has been posted on the net of former Chicago Cubs player Sammy Sosa and his shocking, ghostly appearance at the Latin Grammy Awards. He came clean on what happened with his skin.

"It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some," he said during the "Primer Impacto" program at the Univision Spanish network.
"It's a cream that I have, that I use to soften (my skin), but has bleached me some. I'm not a racist, I live my life happily," he said.

Speculation flew that he either had bleached his skin or was suffering from a medical condition.
Sosa, who also wears colored contacts, said he uses the cream as a moisturizer and is in discussions to market it.

He also denied that the was trying to look like Michael Jackson.

Wow, whats really going on? And why did he say he wasnt trying to be racist??? Did he mean he wasnt trying to be white? Hello.

In other sports newz, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina and pitcher Adam Wainwright won Gold Glove awards for fielding excellence this week. Molina (LEFT) , a first-time All-Star starter this season, won the catcher's Gold Glove for the second consecutive season.

The St. Louis Rams are back from its BYE WEEK and will be playing the new Orleans Saints at the Edward Jones Dome. But word is, not all the tickets were sold but to boost sales, the organziation wanted people buy a ticket and the organziation will buy a ticket for a veteran in behalf of Veterans' Day. We hope it works out cuz if not, the game will be blacked out for TV.

In other newz, award winning St. Louis native poet/educator Dr. Maya Angelou received Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year awards ceremony in New York Monday.
Angelou, who received the biggest ovation of the nite, recited a poem of womanhood brought many to tears and nearly everyone to their feet.

"I am grateful to be a woman," said Angelou, who won the lifetime achievement award. "I must have done something great in another life."

As for the men: "You have to write your own poem," the poet said to laughter, including from former president Bill Clinton, the man who had called upon her to recite poetry at his inauguration.

Other winners included pop singer Rihanna.

In other sports newz, The St. Louis Blues are reportedly planning a ceremony on Dec. 15 to honor Brett Hull's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Hull will be honored prior to a game involving his first two teams, Calgary and St. Louis. Plans for the ceremony were announced Tuesday.

Hull began his career with the Flames in 1986 and came to St. Louis in a trade in 1988. He scored a career-high 86 goals and was the league MVP in 1990-91, and followed that with two more 70-plus goal seasons. All told, he had 741 goals and 650 assists in 19 NHL seasons.

Hull was inducted into the Hall of Fame Monday. Hull made a first in the Hall of Fame of having he, and his his father, Bobby Hull, to be inducted in the NFL Hall of fame.

In other sports newz, the University of Central Florida reportedly has lost its $3 million exclusive contract with Adidas after basketball player Marcus Jordan insisted on wearing his father, Michael's, Nike Air Jordans for the school's opening basketball game.

While the rest of the team wore their Adidas shoes with black trademark stripes, Marcus Jordan laced up his pair of white Air Jordans this Wednesday night, although he did add a pair of black ankle braces with the Adidas logo prominent displayed.
Marcus, 18-year-old son of the NBA legend, says UCF had promised when recruiting him to the school that he could wear the famous Jordan brand.

Hmm. whats really going on. Do we hear a bait and switch tactic going on?

The ex-wife of gospel recording star BeBe Winans is reportedly pleased with Chicago based talk show queen Oprah Winfrey's decision this week to remove him from the Karaoke episode on her show. The wife Winans said the ban "further demonstrates the fact that Oprah continues to be a strong voice against domestic violence and that she's willing to take the steps necessary to defend the defenseless. The
singer will not be allowed to appear on 'Oprah' until domestic violence charges filed against him are resolved.

Winans, who appeared with his sister CeCe to promote the recently released album "Still", was the subject of online controversy stemming from Oprah's alleged banning of fellow entertainer Chris Brown.

According to Winans' ex-wife, who he allegedly pushed down during an altercation earlier this year, Oprah was wrong for allowing her husband to appear on her show and not an apologetic Chris Brown.

Winans is due in court January 20.

Well, looks like Bebe really needs to have the Good Lord on his side now, now that the Big O has punished him!

Kevin Kline Award nominated actor/singer Willena 'NV" Vaughan is going on two month European tour with the Golden Gospel Singers.
STL based guys are doing their thang as well:

106 and Park Freestye champ Big Will just released a new single called, “R.I.P. STL."
He talked about the single on stlhip.com, “ I actually came up with the record a year ago. I had heard about a shooting at Club Plush when it was open. I was going through beats and when I heard it I just vibed to it. I didn't write the record, I actually just said the first thing that came to my head because I wanted the message to be simple.
"We as artist sometimes complicate the message when we write. I didn't want that for this record. I wanted it to be straight forward.I deided to put it out when we lost 100.3 the Beat in St. Louis. I feel part of the reason they lost in ratings is because they did not do right by local scene. They would be more willing to play an out of town artist than an artist who supports their clubs every night.
"Part of the reason they're not around anymore is because they fell victim to the saying "you get what you give"The response to the record has been mixed. Most people agree with the overall message of the song. One thing you can't argue with are facts. These are facts I am portraying in my music. The Projects actually ARE being torn down, a lot of the music IS influenced by Atlanta, St. Louis IS known for having a crab in a bucket mentality.I feels it takes for somebody to hold a mirror to your face before you see yourself for who you are and what you're doing. The question is, HOW DO WE FIX IT?

Hmm, intersteing commentary indeed.

???????????????WORDZ TO THE WHYs?????????????????????????????

Why did the paparazzi jock Mike Tyson and his daughter for a picture causing Tyson to beat a cameraman up? Why do Facebook represent friends that you don't know? Why do people blow on dice when they play dice games? Why did Sammy Sosa try to deny he used a bleaching cream to whiten himslef? Why did people care less that John Muhammad was executed? Why does it seem the Katt Williams burglary charge seem to be more to it than what was reported (espcially after the 911 call with the 17 year old boy calling saying Williams held him hostage)? Why did Prince ask for a million dollars to perform, at Tom Joyners' Cruise next year? Why was radio show host Charlie Tuna giving tips to men on how to cheat? Why did Rahsaan Patterson perform only three songs at the McCafe concert at Exo last Friday? And why did it seem Coco Soul looked more like the headliner when she opened up the show? And Why is Hollywood making a movie with Martin Lawrence as Shenene and Jamie Foxx as Ugly Wanda caleld "Skank Robbery?"
