THE BIG A&E NEWZ STORY is: Things may have be on hold for Chicago talk show queen Oprah Winfrey;s request to have the golden voice homeless man turned Internet sensation Ted Williams on her daytime talk show as well as working as a voice over announcer for her OWN network.

On Monday, headlines surfaced about Williams engaging in a verbal and physical spat with his daughter over money in a Los Angeles hotel room that ended with both getting arrested (but was not charged).. “Fists got flying– none of which were mine,” said Williams in an “Entertainment Tonight” interview, displaying a large scratch on this left cheek. His daughter Janey shared her side of the story with Dr. Phil this week. “He said, ‘You, you fat [expletive],’ and when he said that, I just got angry.” Dr Phil suggested that Williams will enter a "private" rehab facility. Williams and his family members can be seen today on Dr Phil.

Meanwhile, prior to this incident, Oprah was one of many who wants Williams to voice over their products and networks. She has been quoted on Inside Edition that she would love to have the former homeless man with the "golden voice," Ted Williams on her OWN network. The talk show host recently revealed that she thinks Williams would make a great addition to her brand new network.

According to the New York Daily News, Oprah was captivated by Ted Williams story. As a homeless man in Ohio, Williams was discovered by a newspaper reporter who video taped his self proclaimed "golden voice." The video quickly went viral on YouTube, and the job offers started rolling in.

"The reason we're all so fascinated, I think, is because it means you can be homeless on the street, carrying a sign like we've all seen, and this can happen to you," Oprah said.

Let’s hope that Williams can maintain all this exposure so fast because the pressure could easily get him to relapse. But what we cant understand is, why are people starting to backlash against Williams? It wasn't his fault the media created this frenzy for its own prestige and glorious find, the media itself caused this sensation--Williams is just the innocent victim passing through.

In unrelated Oprah newz, she was been reported as saying her worst career moment
was the box-office failure of her movie "Beloved." It sent her into what she calls a "macaroni-and-cheese-eating tailspin".

Oprah starred as a former slave in the 1998 film based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The movie had the misfortune to open the same weekend as the slasher film, "Bride Of Chucky." "Beloved" was a flop.

Oprah told Piers Morgan in an interview for his new CNN talk show that it was the only time she was ever depressed.Oprah said she told her chef to make some mac-and-cheese to help her cope.

The interview airs on Piers Morgan Tonight on next Monday.

Beloved was Be-hated. LOL

The 11-5 Chicago Bears are going to try to buck a trend that makes experience a premium for the postseason, particularly at the quarterback position. First-time starting quarterbacks have not fared well in the playoffs in recent seasons and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Matt Cassel was the latest to fail in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Bears will host the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the NFCNorth divisional round at Soldier Field when Jay Cutler will make his first career postseason start. In fact, this is his first postseason start since high school, the last time Cutler was on a team with a winning record.

Tickets for that game is sold out. Tickets ranged from $107 to $559. For fans willing to pay more, previously-sold tickets cost from $200 to $2,500.

Chicago native actress/talk show host Sherri Shepherd announced on “The View” Monday that she was getting married and showed off a ring finger featuring a 3-carat princess-cut diamond-and-platinum engagement ring from her new fiance, Los Angeles-based television writer Lamar Sally.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg opened 'The View' with a shout-out to her beaming colleague, who was greeted with cheers from the studio audience and her cast mates, including Barbara Walters, as Shepherd raised her hand, and a screen behind the panel flashed a close-up of her shiny new Christmas gift.

The price of the ring is at approximately $70,000.

She pulled out her engagement ring from a bowl of M&Ms on December 26. Shepherd and Sally are now planning an August 11 wedding in Chicago, Illinois.

THE BIG STL STORY IS:

St. Louis bred rap mogul Nelly's "Celebrity Sweat" fitness DVD was announced last week in a new partnership with the President's Challenge Program, part of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.

"Celebrity Sweat" , that was filmed at Lifetime Fitness in Ellisville, Mo. St. Louis, has signed on to become a President's Challenge advocate and to promote the Presidential Lifestyle Award.

"Celebrity Sweat" is also linking up with First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" initiative motivating students to get into gym classes and athletics.

The first edition of "Celebrity Sweat" sold out in a few weeks.

In unrelated Nelly newz, Nelly is set to release the 5th single off his “5.0” CD, his Kelly Rowland duet as his new single, 'Gone', which features on the rapper's latest studio effort 5.0, is expected to be released in the US later this month. According to All Access, the track, which was produced by Lil Wayne has already been added to a number of US radio stations, and is due to impact mainstream channels on January 18. The song marks the second time the pair have collaborated. Their 2002 hit 'Dilemma' which topped the charts in nine countries, including the UK and US.

We got a feeling, that this song will be his next Top 10 hit and would subsequently breathe new life to his CD, "5.0"

+++++

In more unrelated newz, Nelly will headline the 2011 Snowstorm Music Tour on March 4 at the McElroy Auditorium in Waterloo, Ia., on the National Cattle Congress grounds. The March concert also will feature 3OH!3 and Big Reeno. Two additional acts will be announced at a later date. And during the holidays, Nelly performed on the 12TH ANNUAL A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, a TV special that was aired on the CBS Television Network. It also included singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge, Maroon 5, superstar Ricky Martin and opener pop sensation Katy Perry.

Twain scholar Alan Gribben has made newz recently about his upcoming publishing of a planned combined volume of the late Florida, Mo born and Hannibal, Mo raised based humorist Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “Tom Sawyer” is expunging the “N-word” from its pages, replacing it with “slave.” The racially charged word appears in “Huck Finn” 219 times and four times in ”Tom Sawyer.” The publisher also is changing the name of “Injun Joe” to “Indian Joe” and “half-breed” to “half-blood” in “Tom Sawyer.” Gribben is working with NewSouth Books in Alabama, which will come out with 7,500 copies of the new edition next month. Gribben said the word has kept the books off lists of literary classics taught in many schools today.

There has been a big debate from U.S. scholars and every day folk on whether the two books should be scrubbed of the N-word. Some say if the Bible and other canons of reading can be revised for certain audiences, then why not Twain’s work moreso his works are in the public domain while others argue that the work should not be touched because it affects the times that it was written and loses its authenticity. We say what is all the fuss? It’s not like youngsters don’t know what the n-word is. It, along with other ethnic slurs, is part of our culture. The publisher has a right to change it, but cuz of the controversy, the changed words will still have the n-word connotation cuz of all the hoopla. Instead of focusing on whether the word should be omitted, how about focusing on getting funds in schools so certain schools could have boosk suchas Huck Finn can be given for the school curriculum.

Chicago bred rap superstar Kanye West’s ”My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy “CD cover artist spilled the paint on the CD cover controversy. According to reports. the hip-hop megastar didn't actually intend for 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' to hit the shops clad in it all its disturbing, blackly humorous glory -- rather he hoped the sleeve image he commissioned from artist George Condo would see the disc censored. The painting in question is now the infamous of a fanged, armless, winged female, naked and romantically entangled with a grotesque caricature of the rapper himself. It was one of five paintings that were used for Ye’s CD. The artist said that the rapper initiated the working relationship after seeing his paintings, and approached him looking for "something that will be banned."

Condo reportedly spent a day in his studio with West, listening to the album, before creating eight or nine images for him to choose from, including the beastly tryst in question. As it happened, West's latest bid for notoriety seemingly didn't come off as planned. Though the hip-hopper took to Twitter in October to announce his creation's impending blacklisting from major US stores, Walmart quickly denied planning any such thing.

All we can say is, told ya so. We said this last fall when all the hoopla came about that Ye may have planned for a buzz to happen in order to get people talkin cuz controversy breeds success.

Speaking of Ye and Twitter, he was pleading the fifth when PETA mongers protested his wearing a floor length fur recently and its pic posted online, offending many PETA-tweeters/

Here were some of the PETA mongers tweets:

“I think its absolutely disgusting that @kanyewest wears a mink fur, leather pants, and gator shoes,” @MsJBRZL tweeted. “How many poor animals did he kill for 1/2 an outfit? Smh!”

Top model Joanna Krupa compared Kanye to the devil with her tweet, and tells FOX411.com exclusively, “If Kanye is wearing a real fur coat -- and that's what it looks like -- then I think he’s a man without heart, soul or any common sense.”

Krupa, an avid animal rights activist, added that “It looks pathetic: He looks like a mutated, two-legged stuffed animal. Anyone who thinks wearing fur is elevating one's sex-appeal or status must have deep rooted self-esteem issues.”

Kanye West has not responded to FOX411.com’s request for comment, and has been uncharacteristically silent on Twitter.

Do you think Ye was wrong? Our thing is PETA wouldn’t be in a furball if the pic was not posted online (see no evil….) What do you think?

BLACK REP BITZ

Pericles by William Shakespeare

THRU January 30, 2011

Directed by Andrea Frye

Bordellos & abduction, pirates & fisherman, tournaments & hurricanes, politics & intrigue, laughter & tears, loss & reunion, lies & treachery, death & miracles, exhilaration & sex, royalty & commoners, magic & mystery. Across oceans of time and distance, a royal family is torn apart and reunited in this sweeping epic of love, faith, and perseverance. Pericles moves in time through the Diaspora from the shores of pre-colonial Africa to the Caribbean, to New Orleans and twentieth-century Atlanta among others. With lively original music and dance, some of Shakespeare’s most beautiful language transports us from palaces to shipwrecks and storms at sea, to temples and bawdy houses in a panorama of breathtaking visual imagery creating a stunning metaphor for the African American experience.

The show will take place at Grandel Square Theatre in Grandel Square in St. Louis
