THE BIG A&E STORY THIS WEEK IS:

President Barack Obama's West Coast trip this week included a stop at "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on October 25. Obama, who was traveling to raise money for his re-election bid and to try to gain more support for his jobs bill, made his fourth appearance on Leno's show, and the second since he became president.

He first appeared on the show in 2006 and again in 2007, and then became the first sitting president to appear on "The Tonight Show" with his March 19, 2009 visit.

Obama then headed north to San Francisco for a fundraiser featuring a performance by folk rock singer-songwriter Jack Johnson. Obama also had fundraisers scheduled in Denver, all part of a three-day, three-state swing through the west.

Tuesday's fundraisers follow star-studded campaign events in Los Angeles on Monday. Obama joined actor Will Smith and basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson at a dinner at the home of producer James Lassiter. Then he mingled with Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas over canapés at the movie star couple's home just a few blocks away.

We think that our President will have a fight on his hands for re-election, but if anything, he definitely has a knack of the talk show realm. Hmm who knows, he may have a budding new career after his Presidency is over. We can see him hosting a talk show. Don't you?

THE BIG STL NEWS STORY THIS WEEK IS:

Game Six of the World Series between the St. Lousi Cardinals and the Texas Rangers at Busch stadium was postponed Wednday dur to inclement weather and was rescheduled for Thursday nite and Game Seven, if needed would be played Friday nite instead of Thursday nite. St Louis Cardinals are currently trailing Rangers 3-2.

The World Series has shook up prime-time television viewing, helping Fox knock off CBS for the week. Three of the first four World Series games between Texas and St. Louis finished among the 10 most popular programs for the week, Nielsen said Tuesday. The only exception was Saturday's third game, a Cardinals blowout that coincided with the night many of Fox's young viewers are out and away from the TV.

Fox has moved ahead of CBS for the season in the 18-to-49-year-old demographic it targets. That's unusual because Fox's season usually doesn't heat up until "American Idol" comes back on the air in January.

More than 15 million people watched the Series' fourth game on Sunday night, Nielsen said. That meant baseball eclipsed football;NBC's Sunday night NFL game had a season-low 12.5 million viewers, burdened with a non-competitive game between New Orleans and Indianapolis.

In related World Series newz, St Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols made history when he hit in the ninth inning of World Series Game 3 Saturday night, three homeruns and driven in six of St. Louis' 16 runs on the night on his own.

He became only the third man in baseball history to hit three home runs in a World Series game following Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson. Also, Pujols became the only man ever to have five hits, three home runs and six RBI in a single World Series game on Saturday night in Arlington, TX. In more Pujols newz, he will have a statue unveiled in his honor on November 2.The 10-foot, 1,100-pound bronze sculpture of Pujols will be at Westport Plaza.

The public is invited to attend the unveiling statue at 11:00 a.m.

Chicago's talk show goddess Oprah Winfrey wore a red portrait neckline gown and red heels to interview Americana designer Ralph Lauren on Oct. 24 at a live benefit that raised over $7 million for Lincoln Center in NYC and the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention. Lauren discussed his life, career and commitment to anti-cancer causes at Lincoln Center in front of a sold-out crowd of arts patrons and a celebrity guest list.

Oprah initially interviewed Lauren in May on one of her final TV show episodes. But she didn't save any hard hitting q's for the second meeting, asking questions such as “How’d you get to be so darned American?” “Were you ever scared?” “What makes you most proud?”

Finally, Winfrey mused about never having seen an actual Lauren fashion show. And surprise, surprise, don't you know she got one. Lauren said, “Let me show you, Oprah" and more than 50 models walked the stage in designs from his Spring 2012 collection.

In the audience and at the post-show dinner included Jerry Seinfeld, Michael J. Fox, Matt Lauer, , Gayle King Michael J. Fox, Anderson Cooper, Deborah Roberts, Bryant and Hilary Gumbel, Martha Stewart, and Barbara Walters.

Some celebs even got to ask Lauren their own questions during the interview. Today show weather anchor Al Roker asked “Can I get a discount?" Lauren answered “Al Roker? Sure. I watch him all the time. Yes.” Williams wanted to know his favorite car. Lauren admitted, “That’s the hardest one. They are all like my children.”

St. Louis native Andy Cohen, host of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live wanted the designer's opinion about people who have copied his American style. Always a class act, Lauren politely demurred, “I don’t think about them.”

In other words, a kissy kiss fest. LOL

As her husband was on the West Coast raising money for his campaign, First lady Michelle Obama returned home to Chicago Tuesday for two personal causes: improving the nation’s nutrition and helping feed her husband’s re-election campaign fund.

Speaking at a fundraising event at Plumbers Hall on the Near West Side, Obama recited a litany of President
Barack Obama’s accomplishments and urged supporters to stay strong against GOP criticism.

Earlier during her Chicago visit, Obama made a stop at City Hall for a meeting convened by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to discuss “food deserts,” areas lacking access to fresh produce and grocery stores. Then she headed to a Walgreens store on the South Side that has expanded to sell grocery staples.

In unrelated newz, Obama is coming out with a new book this Spring called “American Grown: How The White House Kitchen Garden Inspires Families, Schools and Communities.

Despite rampant rumors claiming Chicago native singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has called off her wedding to fiancé David Otunga, the singer’s rep clarifies that the big day will go ahead as planned. "I can confirm that the story is not true," the rep tells E! News.

According to Star Magazine, 30-year-old Hudson "abandoned plans to walk down the aisle" due to constant bickering between her and Otunga. The tabloid claimed the couple, who got engaged in 2008, were "clashing over Jennifer's career obsession, commitment issues and reluctance to have more children."

Another inside source for the tabloid explained, "David resents that she's so consumed by work." The so-called insider went on to add, "He's been pushing for baby No. 2, but Jennifer says she's not ready and throws out a million excuses."

Earlier in October, MediaTakeOut reported that J-Hud’s wedding to David was put on hold because of legal issues. The blog quoted a source inside Hudson’s family who said, "[David] didn't want to sign a prenup, and so they put the wedding on hold."

All false, says Hudson, via her mouthpiece. As for the mystery of her wedding date, Hudson claims that just because the world doesn’t know, doesn’t mean it’s not set. "I've always had a [wedding] date!" she told In Touch Weekly last month, "I just haven't told anybody! So it's set!

We may not know the when or where, but one thing we know for sure, Hudson will look smashing in her white dress.

Hmm, we think that her PR people are putting a good spin on this matter but our gut feeling is there is trouble in paradise and don’t think the wedding is going to go forward but likely the couple will just be there for their son.

Chicago bred rap superstar Kanye West and Jay-Z–now collectively known as The Throne–are headed to Atlanta, where they’ll kick off the fall leg of their highly anticipated Watch The Throne tour. The inaugural show is on Friday night (October 28) in the city’s Phillips Arena. The much-hyped tour is in support of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s platinum-selling album Watch The Throne and they’ll remain in town long enough to perform another show on Saturday night (October 29). The Birmingham News reports that Yeezy and Hov will hit the road on Wednesday night (October 26) after 200 workers assist with packing for the trek. St Louis native rapper J Kwon is speaking out these days with a new single entitled, “Fake Baby Moma Diss - FuCk ThE BuTlErS" . The song goes in on fake baby momma who got him locked up on bogus child support charges. Its' been a year or so since J-Kwon spoke out about a DNA test that proved a child he thought was his wasn't after spending time locked up on child support charges which sent his career on a downward spiral.

ILLI MO REALITY

Rockford, Ill native Kayla Ferrell was eliminated in a double elimination on this week’s America’s Next Top Model aired Wednesday on the CW..

In related newz, Oak Park, Ill native comedian Kathy Griffin was a guest judge on this week’s America’s Next Top Model All stars.

IN OTHER STL NEWZ

St Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is still in a walking boot and it appears that at least another week will pass before the St. Louis Rams quarterback gets back on the field. Bradford was not at practice this week while rehabbing from a left ankle sprain, leaving his availability in doubt for the second straight game. Backup A.J. Feeley got his first start since 2007 in a 34-7 loss at Dallas last Sunday and expects to get the call again this week against the New Orleans Saints at home atteh Edward Jones Dome this Sunday.

Bradford’s leg was placed in a cast Saturday, a day after on-field testing aggravated the injury, and the cast was taken off earlier this week. The 0-6 Rams will try to avoid risking another setback for Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, and aren’t sure when they’ll try another round of tests.

He suffered the injury during his team's 24-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers on October 16.
