THE BIG STORY THIS WEEK IS :Chrysler Group LLC's "Imported from Detroit" tagline, launched with what became a wildly popular Eminem Super Bowl ad, is now available on T-shirts, sweatshirts and even an infant onesie.

The Auburn Hills-based automaker said Tuesday it hopes to parlay the recent success of the two-minute commercial into a full-blown merchandise line.

Each item, available at chrysler.com, bears the "Imported from Detroit" logo, with an image of the Joe Louis fist that appears in the "Born of Fire" ad, holding what appears to be the a Chrysler hood ornament.

Chrysler plans to give some money generated from merchandise sales to local charities, including the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan, Habitat for Humanity Detroit, and Eminem's charity, The Marshall Mathers Foundation. The $9 million Super Bowl ad was a bigger-than-expected hit, and a tribute to a city that bore the economic brunt of the automaker's 2009 bankruptcy.

The commercial, created by Wieden + Kennedy, of Portland, Ore., was crafted to help re-build Chrysler's luxury image, but it soon became apparent it was much more than that, stoking water cooler buzz and generating more than a million hits on YouTube.

The agency has sought to keep the message alive with 30- and 60-second spots for the Chrysler brand.

Whats New?LOL

ONE OF THE BIG STL STORIES THIS WEEK IS:

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi fist-pumped her way into the ring on WWE's "Monday Night Raw” this week. The "Jersey Show" pint-sized powerhouse jumped into the ring with WWE Divas Michelle McCool and brought the fist-pumping to a whole new level. The vent took place at the Scott Trade Center in St Louis. During her guest appearance on the show, Snooki tackled Michelle with a flying leap and proceeded to punch the Diva and pull her hair. And while Snooki got the best of Michelle in the episode, which airs on USA, it won't be the last of Snooks in the ring. She accepted Vicki Guerrero's challenge to fight at WrestleMania XXVII on April 3 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.. Raw was aired live from St. Louis on USA Network.

Whats next—Snooki for President in 2012?

Kanye West has invited international supermodel Kate Moss to perform with him at the South By Southwest festival (SXSW) in Texas later this week.

The rapper was apparently impressed by the super model after they met at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.

“Kate brought him into her inner circle at the Givenchy afterparty,” a source told the Daily Mirror.

“Kate was rapping to Kanye and it wasn’t long before they had a crowd around them. Kanye made up a freestyle on the spot for Kate, who was blushing.”

West is due to perform at the Vevo Power Station at
midnight on Saturday (March 19).

What kind of performing does he want to do with Kate Moss? What really goin on?

In unrelated newz, Ye’ s “All of the Lights” remix, featuring Lil Wayne, Drake andBig Sean, leaked to the ‘net masses this week. Word around the blogosphere is that the track is unfinished. The final version is rumored to have a new ‘Ye verse and a Jay-Z appearance.

Both Drake and Big Sean have hinted on the coming of Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” remix by performing their verses, both at separate occasions, within the past two weeks.

The G.O.O.D./Def Jam artist performed his verse at his tour stop in Denver, Colorado. Young Money’s own gave a sneak peak in the beginning of the month. “Drizzy murdered the "All Of The Lights" remix with @kanyewest… He played it at the Suite Party last night! I heard it 1st last Sat,” DJ Franzen tweeted.

But there seemed to be an important piece missing from the remix: Kanye West, himself.

“Does “All of the Lights” count as a remix if Kanye isn’t on it yet?” Alvin Blanco, writer for Village Voice, XXL, VIBE, Antenna and others, asked.

We think NOT. But then again, Dr Dre is barely on his comeback single, :I Need A Doctor: where the featured artist Eminem, dominates the song.

The newly slim, award winning singer Jennifer Hudson shows off her new frame and new healthy lifestyle in the April issue of Essence magazine. The magazine made it onto the US news stands this week and Jennifer’s body is on two versions of the cove Jennifer’s magazine feature is titled “Remember Me?” which is a clever play on words, since she’s returning into the spotlight after a remarkable physical transformation and her sophomore studio album which will be released on March 22, is titled “I Remember Me.” In related J Hud newz, her baby boy, David Daniel Otunga Jr., might be ready to follow her into showbiz. He just loves music overall, and he's into it. I feel like I had a little Michael Jackson. He'd be in the backseat of the car, [moving] his little shoulder to anything that comes on the radio, and then I turn around like, 'What are you doing?' And he laughs like, 'Ha! What, you didn't think I had that move?'"

Hudson, , also says her son knows his mother's voice as soon as it comes on the radio or TV. "If my commercial is on, he'll walk out the room, 'That's my momma!'" she says.

AND

St Louis Blues/Scott Trade Center owner Dave Checketts announced Wednesday that the Blues and the Scottrade Center lease are for sale. In a press conference, Checketts said that 100 percent of the Blues are for sale, and that he no longer intends to remain as the club's chairman. Game Plan LLC, a Florida-based investment banking and consulting firm, has been hired to conduct the search for a buyer.

"This is a difficult, personal decision for me because we've all come to love this team, my family and I," Checketts said. "We love the city of St. Louis, and we are especially grateful to the fans, who have been just terrific. I could not have asked for better from the fans of St. Louis. But now, we look forward to finding a buyer that shares the same passion that we've had, and the same commitment.

"But I felt it was important to go public that I am no longer a buyer of the franchise but in fact a seller. ... The Blues franchise and arena are all for sale as of this moment. I will not try and stay in."

The main reason for the sales were Checketts' new investor group did not want to meet the price for the franchises.

Checketts said SCP Worldwide and TCP agreed that if they couldn't come to terms, Checketts would sell his 20 percent stake. Tom Stillman owns the remaining 10 percent, but a source said the way the ownership of the team is contracted, Stillman must relinquish his 10 percent to a buyer looking to purchase the entire package. The Scottrade Center lease, as well as the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, is part of the deal, but not the Peabody Opera House.

Hmm, interesting. If those who remember, Checketts and talk show host Rush Limbaugh was in the running to try and buy the Rams last year until that biz deal fell through as well.

St Louis Cards pitcher Adam Wainwright, returned to the Cardinals' spring training facility for the first time since having Tommy John surgery on Feb. 28 to rebuild his right elbow. He said he's back in Florida to begin his rehab. He'll miss all of the 2011 season, and the standard recovery from Tommy John is at least 12 months. He had the cast removed Monday and that allowed him to travel and begin do some mild exercises to regain strength to his arm. His last pitching performance of the spring on Feb. 21 before injuring his elbow, in Jupiter last month. In related newz, he insisted he's still content with his contract, including its $21-million two-year option that hinges on his health.

THE REAL McCOY

By Andrew Moodie

Elijah McCoy may be the greatest inventor you have never heard of. A prodigy since birth, his lifetime of study eventually led him to an invention that changed modern transportation forever, the self-lubricating steam engine. And that’s just one of the many inventions society can thank him for, as we’ll learn in this historical work making its U.S. Premiere. His personal and professional lives can be measured in equal parts triumph and tragedy as he struggles to make his way as an African-American inventor at the turn of the 19th century.
