St. Louis native rock and roll pioneer Chuck Berry fell ill New Years Night during a concert at The Concert Theater in Chicago. According to reports, the 84 year old musician had to be escorted off stage then jumped back on stage.began showing signs something was wrong early on. The promoter of the event told the paper, "Obviously, something was off ... Fifteen minutes into the set it went from fine to something wasn't right. He was starting songs mid-song, playing 15 seconds of a song."

After several failed attempts at the guitar , Berry played keyboard -- then slumped over. Berry was reportedly taken off stage. but came back 15 minutes later and tried resuming the show ... but was reportedly taken off stage again. He returned one more time, assured fans he was OK , and did his signature duck walk before leaving for good.

Berry did not go to the hospital ... he reportedly took a limo home.



Wow, Berry has been on stage rockin and rollin since the early 1950s. If he was going to go to Rock and Roll heaven, doing it on stage would have been the spot to go!!!


The second season of the hit sitcom "Hot In Cleveland" starring Oak Park Illinois native Emmy Award winning actress Betty White and Valarie Bertinelli returns Jan 19.



Last month, it was announced by Showtime that Kansas City , Mo native and Oscar nominated actor Don Cheadle' will star and executive produce the new dramedy House of Lies. It is about “a self-loathing management consultant from a top-tier firm” who will “use any means (or anyone) necessary to get his clients the information they want.”The series, which is being created and written by Matthew Carnahan (who also will co-produce) from the book "House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You The Time." will begin production in February

St. Louis Rams' wide receiver Steven Jackson was the only Rams player chosen to play in this years Pro Bowl. Jackson was recognized late December among the best of the best among NFL ball carriers. It is Jackson's third trip to the Pro Bowl and his second in a row. He was one of three running backs chosen for the NFC team.The Pro Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 30 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Speaking of St. Louis and a bowl, The Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band was in Pasadena, Calif. on New years Day to perform in the 122nd Rose Parade. The parade was themed "Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories." Broadcast partners for the Rose Parade include ABC, NBC, Hallmark and HGTV.


St. Louis native singer/producer Akon has the Top Debut on Billboard's Hot 100 this week (beginning Dec. 30) as a featured artist on The Lonely Island's third charted hit "I Just Had Sex" that debuts at No. 30. The song was featured in a Digisode (that also featured Akon) on Saturday Night Live Dec. 18 as part of SNL cast member Adam Sandburg's comic troupe's parody on music videos.


Other ILLIMOians made chart feats this week: St. Louis bed rap mogul Nelly's comeback single, "Just a Dream" falls out of the Top 10 of the Hot 100 from No. 10 to No 12, spending 16 weeks in the Top 10 and peaking at No. 3.....St. Joseph native rapper Eminem has three songs in the Hot 100 this week. He rebounds from No, 37 to No. 29 with "No Love:"featuring Lil Wayne (peaking at No. 23) and from No. 37 to No. 29 with his No. 1 2011 Grammy nominated single, "Love the way you Lie" featuring Rihanna. He also re-debuts as a featured artist on rapper Nicki Minaj's single's "Romans'; Revenge's at No. 84. .....Chicago native rapper Twista holds a second week at No. 6 on the Hip-hop/R&B Singles chart with "Make a Movie" featuring Chris Brown....Chicago native singer/producer R Kelly has two singles in the Top 40 of the Hot Hop/R&B Singles Chart with his 2011 Grammy nominated "When a Woman Loves" that falls from its peak at No. 20 to No 22 (it also peaked at its debut on the Hot 100 last week at No. 93) and his newest single, the title track to his newest CD, "Love Letter " that moves up from No. 42 to No. 38 in its 5th week.




Adding more fuel to the BF and GF relationship rumor, various sources confirmed Dec 30 that Chicago bred rap superstar Kanye West will be in the new music video for Kim Kardashian's upcoming first single. The video will be direceted by award winning video director, Hype Williams. Recently, they were reportedly caught "strolling" into an L.A. studio.






RIP BITZ. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of St. Louis native and former Minnesota Vikings and Illinois State offensive tackle Brandon Joyce who was shot Christmas Eve and killed Dec 28 from a bad drug deal in St. Charles . He also was a member of the St. Louis Rams' 2010 off season. He was the son of St. Louis Football Cardinals punter Terry Joyce. He was 26.
East St. Louis native/NYC resident actress Ginger Brown has landed a role on the longtime ABC soap opera "One Life to Live." On it, she will play a Capricorn Nightclub waitress. She is in a New years Eve party scene which should air sometime this week.
Chitown talk show mogul Oprah Winfrey is set to launch her own network, OWN Jan. 1 It will be located above channels 200.






St. Louis bred rap icon Nelly will have a NYE celebration at Club Haze in Las Vegas. In unrelated Nelly newz, he confirmed his relationship with R&B singer Ashanti is over. Rumors of their rejoining came about when she was his guest on his private listening party in New York for his CD, "5.0" this summer and her racy lap dance during her performance at his annual Black and White ball held in St. Louis recently(and her defiantly saying from the stage that she was single). "I'm married to my work," he said.

It's all or nothing at all for either the St, Louis Rams or the Seattle Seahawks as they battle in the last week of the regular NFL season next Sunday, Jan 2 at Qwest Field in Seattle. After their squeak win against the 49ners Dec 26 (25-17) at the Edward Jones Dome The Rams (7-8) is currently first in its division NFC West and Seattle (6-9) is second. Both are trying to cop the NFC West Division Title and land a spot in the playoffs. As a result of the all or nothing game, the NFL used its flex schedule to move the game from an afternoon regionally seen game to a nationally seen game in primetime on NBC on Jan 2. It will be the first time since 2007 that the Rams will be in a nationally televised game.

St. Louis native actress Cleo King can be seen in the new sitcom, "Mike and Molly" playing the role of Nana. The show airs Monday nites on CBS.
The new Retro Air Jordans have caused swift walks to the malls Christmas Eve. The sneaks from former Chicago Bulls superstar and Hall of Famer Michael Jordan is called "Cool Grey" retail at $175 and from reports last minute Xmas shoppers are getting into physical altercations in department stores to cop a pair of the shoe that is only on sale for 24 hours. The shoe has already been up on Ebay with a bid as of Dec 24 at close to $400.
Chitown native and Internet sensation Antoine Dodson is wrapping up his year sort of speak with a X-mas parody of his viral video and Autotune song, "Bed Intruder Song." Retitled, "Chimney Intruder," Dodson debuted the new 2 minute video on The George Lopez Show Dec 21 where he warned folk to "Hide your gifts, Hide your Trees' and "Come through my chimney, I'll show you a nutcracker" against Santa.








Just when you thought Sherri Shepherd's infamous gushing over music superstar Prince during his impromptu appearance on The View recently was the last bitz of newz for the star in 2010, the show's co-host Chitown native Shepherd makes even more news over a man--the one who she is going to marry. Reports are saying that the comedian/actress is about to tie the know for the second time to Cali teacher Lamar Sally in 2011 after a short courting (since June). Reports also say that they were hooked up by St. Louis resident adoptee actress/comedian Niecy Nash. No date was set on when they were getting married.
Congrats to STL native and Venice, Calif, resident model Jud Bizra who won $1million in the Finale of Survivor: Nicaragua this past Sunday on CBS! At 21 years old, he became the youngest winner of the realty competition show in the seres' history!























Just got word that seven-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Lauryn Hill is coming to St Louis. She will perform at The Pageant Jan 16! Tickets we hear will go on sale this Wednesday at all ticket outlets and at the Pageant.
