THE BIG A&E NEWZ STORY THIS WEEK no doubt was former St. Louis Cardinals’ Mark McGwire coming clean to the media that he took steroids during his stint with the Cards in the now infamous 1998 single home run title season against Cubs’ Sammy Sosa as well as much of his career.

McGwire did a set of interviews that was capped off with a TV spot St. Louis native broadcaster Bob Costas Monday on the MLB Network, in a 20-minute tearfest.

"There have been built-up emotions I've had inside me a good five years now. … I want to come clean. I want to move on after this," said McGwire, regarding his feelings about the situatun since his 2005—“I’m-not-here-to-talk-about-the-past”

McGwire offered a public apology for his "foolish" use of steroids and that he use dthem for nagging injuries throughout his career and not to bulk his strength to hit homeruns.
In his interview, McGwire said he rarely used "injections" and preferred to take steroids orally.

McGwire, said he spent Monday contacting family, friends and professional acquaintances, including his staunchest public defender, Cards manager Tony La Russa (PICTURED) who was also his manager when he played for the Oakland A’’s in the early 1990s.

"I didn't know anything," La Russa said in an interview with ESPN. "Mark and I never confronted it, and he never told me until this morning."

LaRussa hired McGwire last Fall as a batting coach for the Cards as an option for LaRussa to re-sign with the Cards next season as the team’s manager. "It's funny how things work out. I knew this day was going to come, when or how or in what forum I wasn't sure," McGwire said. "Becoming the hitting coach has given me this forum to sit back and be honest and come clean. This morning has been one of the toughest days of my life."

Hmm, Well, is isn’t it a bit anti-climactic that McGwire now discloses that he had taken steroids? Would he have came out with it if LaRussa wouldn’t have hired him as batting coach? And what’s up with LaRussa? You mean to tell us that LaRussa didn’t have a clue that McGwire was juicing? Come on now, that’s like saying you didn’t know that rain comes from the sky! We think McGwire was heavily coached himself in what to say and how to say what the public already suspected in order to get sympathy from them. All we have are two words: Marion Jones.

Another big story involving an interview was when ousted Illinois Governor and current reality show personality . Rod Blagojevich apologized for saying in the current issue of Esquire Magazine claiming that he was "blacker than Barack Obama."

He gave the apology on WLS Radio in Chicago on Monday saying that it was a "stupid thing to say."
In the interview, Blagojevich said he grew up in a small apartment, shined shoes as a boy and that his father ran a laundry in a black neighborhood.
The interview hits newsstands Jan. 19.

First Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid apologized after a new book revealed racial remarks he made about Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign describing Obama as a "light-skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." (and Obama accepting the apology) and of course we cant forget Rev. Jessie Jackson;s off the cuff “hot mic” comments on TV wishing to “cut Obama’s nuts off, now Blago chime din on the Hateration to Obama. Don’t folk know that whatever one says negatively about Obama, will get them in hot water?
And Blago of all people who got other things to deal with like possible prison time for trying to sell Obama’s Senate Seat knew what was going to happen. Magazine interviews are done way in advance and he could have easily said that the comments were “off the record” or if he did say it that he wanted those comments omitted long before the article would hit. Oh, and when did shining shoes, living in a small house and having a biz that catered to black folk equate to blackness? I think the black dye he dies his hair with has affected his brain.

The third biggest story that happened was the Grammy Award nominated Lady Gaga concert last Thursday at the Fox Theatre. It went on without a glitch (and even during bad incremented winter weather) as well the anti-Gaga protesters who were scheduled to protest in front of the theater (maybe the weather probably?) Gaga turned it out singing songs from her best selling CD's "Fame" and "Monster."
Here are two comments from fans who attended the concert according to www.stltoday.com

Lady Gaga definately (sic)brought down the house tonight. From the cinematic transitions, to the eye-popping stage movement, onto the engagement of the crowd and professions of love and peace for everybody; she truly inspired me. This will be a concert I will never forget…..—Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah!Roma-Roma-ma-ah!Ga-ga-ooh-la-la! that is all….

That show was amazing. My ears are still ringing like 2 hours after. There were so many monsters out there and they dressed the part. It was so much fun. The costumes and dancing was phenomenal. Gaga does not disappoint. I will see her again the next time she comes to St. Louis.

In other sports newz, former Rams quarterback and current Arizona Cardinals Kurt Warner participated in one of the biggest scoring NFL playoffs in playoffs history last weekend in an overtime game with a score, 51-45, in favor of the Arizona Cardinals against the Packers.
Warner passed for 379 yards and five TDs.

Rumor has it that Warner may retire after the playoff run.
According to USA Today, Warner said, "Right now I'm just playing football this year as long as I can. When that's done, we'll step away and figure out what's the best thing moving forward."

If Warner splits when the season is done, he may be leaving $11.5 million on the table, according to the Arizona Republic. He is still due the remainder of his signing bonus ($7.5 million) and a $4 million salary in 2010.

Hmm, we think he may stay for awhile. Ya think?

The other big sports story was that the St. Louis Blues finally winning a home game at Scottrade Center after ending their five-game home losing streak and with its newest coach Davis Payne (who's record is 1-1). The win was only the sixth this season at Scottrade Center for the Blues, who own the league's worst home record at 7-14-3 and hadn't won a game since Dec. 15. The win allowed the Blues to tie the Blue Jackets in the Central Division and Western Conference standings.

In the all-caps post at kanyeuniversecity.com, Mr. West thanked his listeners for “their constant love and support over these past six years.”

This TV season may be Jeff City native coemdian/actor Cedric the Enetrtainer's season to have his own starring sitcom. The ABC Network hads greenlit a pilot to be aired starring Cedric who will play a sports talk radio host and former jock whose life gets turned upside down when his son and young granddaughter reconnect with him. Cedric the Entertainer is reportedly hoping for more luck than he had with last spring's ABC comedy pilot "The Law," which was considered a strong possibility for a series order until just days before the upfront presentation.

Let's hope things work out for Cedric on the TV front cuz he hasnt had that much luck on TV since "The Steve Harvey Show" left the WB in 2001. His last television run was on the short lived variety show "Cedric the Entertainer Presents" on FOX which aired during the 2002-2003 TV season.

EasT St. Louis native NBA star Darius Miles is dealing with another type of court these days--the court of law. he is being sued by his baby mama, Arthurjameeia M.R. Moore for legal paternity and support for a daughter, Ari, they had out of wedlock in October. The petition was filed in the domestic relations division of the circuit court of Cook County, Illinois (as in Chicago) on Dec. 18 by Moore’s attorney. The baby reportedly has lived with her mother since her birth on Oct. 26, according to the petition.
Attached to the court filing is a DNA test result that repordedly says the probability of Miles being the baby’s father is 99.99 percent. Moore says in the petition that she has "incurred medical expenses related to the pregnancy and birth of Ari and that she needs support for the reasonable needs and expenses of the child."
The amount of child support and other expenses that she is seeking from Miles is not specified in the petition, which says only that the amount is “to be determined,” and that it should include retroactive child support from the date of Ari’s birth to the present.
Ouch, looks like Miles is in serious violation territory on this one!

Speaking of baby mama drama, remember when we had a WORDZ TO THE WHYZ question asking why celebs use Twitter to dry out their dirty laundry on their relationships, specifically R&B singer Tank (PICTURED)? Well, Tank has had many tweets talking about the drama that he's been having with his baby mama. Well, that baby mama is former "Flava of Love 2" personality and St. Louis native/Eye Candy model B Skye aka St. Lewis (PICTURED).
And we've all found out in ST. Louis at a Eye Candy spinoff event MILLION DOLLAR MAN two years ago At the Loft Nightclub, that she can land a cold cocked fist up to a dude in a quickness so we can just imagine what Tank must be feeling!

OUTTOWN EXCLUSIVE. One of Cafe Soul's biggest supporters, St. Louis Post's Pop Critic Kevin Johnson had a incident last weekend involving a beer bottle at a venue. On Saturday, Johnson attended the Fight for Fashion Show that was put on by MMA Magazine at Sugar's Lounge in downtown St. Louis. Just as the event was about to begin, Johnson--who was standing at the end of the makeshift runway--was hit on the forehead with a beer bottle that came down from the second floor of the venue. Johnson did not know if the bottle drop was an incident or done intentionally, but luckily Johnson was not seriously hurt and had no cuts or bruises from the incident and the only concerns for him was to stay awake for the that night so he wouldnt have any sudden relapse (e.g. fall into a coma) from the mishap. His Facebook page was filled with concerned persons (including YOURS TRULY) soon after he posted it on there.
