We are 3 posts away from 1,000. Details of the GRAND PARTY to commemorate this feat will likely be in early June. Details will be given later this month. To RSVP, make a comment in the comment box on this blog.

THE BIG A&E STORY THIS WEEK IS:

The roasting that President Barack Obama had done on Apprentice star and possible 2012 Presidential candidate Donald Trump. It happened to become one the most entertaining nights of the year in Washington D.C., the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, took place last Saturday. 'SNL' star Seth Meyers hosted, but our nation's chief executive stole the show.

And from reports the Donald was not a happy camper of the warming up the joans.

The president didn't waste time suggesting that Trump go waste some time, investigating famous conspiracies -- neatly equating those who doubt his birthplace to those who research Roswell aliens and gripping national mysteries like 'Where are Biggie and Tupac?'

The crowd howled when the president then explained, with a straight face, the ludicrously overwrought decisions Trump made during a steak-themed 'Celebrity Apprentice' episode, and how such issues kept Obama up at night. His message was clear: The notion that hosting 'Apprentice' is comparable to running the country is pretty hilarious.

Karma is a biatch as they say and Obama is having the last laugh—literally.

Have a look at POTUS' punchlines:

In unrelated Obama newz, his and the First Lady Michelle’s historic appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show Monday almost didn’t air. Due to the timeliness of the piece (which was taped last Thursday)Oprah was contemplating during last weekend after Obama announced to the world Sunday at a press conference at the White House that Osama bin laden had been killed. But Oprah and her producers decided to run with it and flash before the show that it was pre-recorded throughout it

With the dated episode, one could not help but to find “hints” of what was to come in regards to bin laden’s demise.

Some of the quotes on the show were

First Lady told Winfrey and her audience, "[Barack] can keep his eye on the prize in the midst of some craziness. That's what makes him a special leader."

The president shared again that he would be running for a second term in 2012. Said the First Lady of their joint decision to run again, "It's an honor and its a duty. We take this responsibility very seriously -- if there are things we can continue to do and I think this president has a lot more to get done."

One of the major topics that came up during the interview was that of the controversial birth certificate debate that was recently re-launched by, among other skeptics, Donald Trump. The president said he felt "the line between entertainment and politics has been blurred," adding, "reality TV is seeping into our politics."

While the President never directly addressed Trump or others by name (he did again pull out the term "carnival barkers"), he did note that he tried to take it in stride -- "I knew I'd been born [in Hawaii], I remembered it" -- but noted Michelle was not nearly as OK with the questioning from the birthers. The president also discussed that one of his biggest regrets thus far has been not being able to change Washington's "splintered" tone, but told Winfrey he still thinks he can with more time.

Other tidbits: Barack's favorite president is Abraham Lincoln; he served as an assistant basketball coach for his daughter's team; he can't dance; Michelle has a strong bond with Elmo from her many visits to Sesame Street; misses shopping at Target; and shared her secrets to a long marriage (it's "a true partnership.")

The talk was the first time a sitting president and first lady have appeared together on the show. Obama sat for the interview hours after releasing a detailed version of his Hawaiian birth certificate in a bid to end distracting speculation, fueled by prospective Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, over whether Obama is U.S.-born.

But after it aired the issue was now of Obama giving the speech that Osama bin laden was killed.

What do yawl think? Do you think Oprah should have aired the dated episode? We think it should have been a live episode on Monday. That would have been spellbounding!

In more Oprah newz, she received the Illinois Broadcasters Association's Hall of Fame Award Tuesday at the Palmer House in Chicago(PICTURED from left Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame members Orion Samuelson, Dick Biondi, Roger Ebert and Bill Kurtis) Film critic and Chicago native Roger Ebert was among those who honored the talk show queen at the downtown Chicago hotel. Association president and CEO Dennis Lyle calls Winfrey "the epitome of broadcasting excellence." Ebert already is a member, along with late partner Gene Siskel. Winfrey came to Chicago in 1984 when she started hosting "A.M. Chicago" on WLS-TV. That show eventually became "The Oprah Winfrey Show," which will end this month after 25 years.

Chicago Bulls player Derrick Rose officially became the NBA's youngest MVP when it was announced by the NBA on Tuesday that he won and joined Michael Jordan as the only Bulls player to win the award, which was no surprise given his spectacular season and Chicago's leap to a league-leading 62 wins. Chicago’s coach Tom Thibodeau was presented with his Coach of the Year award before Game 1 against the Hawks at the United Center Monday.

As far as his ankle injury, it is fine. He participated fully in shootaround and was in the lineup for the Chicago Bulls in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday when they won over the Hawks 86-73 victory in the United Center tying the series 1-1. It was speculative if whether Rose would play Wednesday when he turned his left ankle just as the Hawks captured a 103-95 victory in Game 1 on Monday. X-rays were negative, and Rose said the ankle felt fine.

Game 3 will be at the Philips Arena on Friday.

Meanwhile, before the Game 2 victory, The United Center crowd’s M-V-P chant resonated when NBA commissioner David Stern presented Rose with the Maurice Podoloff Trophy as the league’s most valuable player.

‘‘This right here is for the city of Chicago more than anything,’’ Rose said at the center-court ceremony. ‘‘Thanks. I appreciate it. My family appreciates it. And the organization appreciates it. Thank you all, and we love you all.’’

Stern saluted Rose in a pregame news conference, saying he ‘‘couldn’t be better’’ as a role model for the NBA.

‘‘He’s the full package,’’ Stern said. ‘‘He had a family that watched out for him. He made through difficult times. He’s very valuable, not just to the league, but to his teammates and as a role model to all.’’

Role model? Oh oh here we go. Didn’t they say that about Kobe Bryant and look what happened afterwards—scandal.

Speaking of the FLOTUS, Michelle Obama has joined forces with singer Beyonce on the campaign to handle childhood obesity in America. Last week, BeyoncĂ© led a bunch of schoolkids of P.S. 161 Pedro Albizu Campos middle school in Harlem through the routine for “Move Your Body” in heels. LOL Meanwhile, Michelle did her best Bey impression to the song along with a bunch of kids to promote her LETS MOVE campaign against childhood obesity. She led students Alice Deal Middle School' in the nation's capital in The Running Man and The Dougie.

Whats next FLOTUS in a Beyonce video? LOL

A jury of 12 regular jurors and six alternates was selected this week in former Illinois Governor . and reality show star Rod Blagojevich's retrial. There is just one man among the 12 regular jurors.

Opinionmakers are sayingthat could be a good thing for Blago arguing that men don't like him.

Meanwhile, A man who worked with ex-Governor Blagojevich for years worked against him on the witness stand Wednesday.

Blagojevich's former chief-of-staff says the then-governor planned to appoint himself to President Obama's vacant senate seat in 2008 if he wasn't satisfied with what he could get in exchange for appointing someone else. He also testified the cash-strapped then-governor talked about putting his wife on a state board or securing a job for her with a company that had state contracts.

Hmm. It’s starting already STRIKE ONE on Blago.

A new Dr. Dre and Eminem track is to premiere this Friday. The song, titled 'Die Hard', is taken from Dre's forthcoming third studio album Detox, which is due to be released later this year. Fans of the St. Joseph Mo native (Em that is) will be able to catch a first listen of the track when it debuts on American TV network Showtime's Fight Camp 360°: Pacquiao vs. Mosley on May 6.

According to PEOPLE who attended the Coachella Festival, Rappers Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West nearly CAME TO BLOWS after Kanye’s hour long set Wiz performed early on in the day, and he brought his GIRLFRIEND Amber Rose with him. Well everything was all fine and dandy until Kanye West took to the stage later on. During his performance of the song Stronger, Ye reportedly went OUT OF HIS WAY to take a dig at Amber (who was 75 feet away from him, on the side of the stage). The original lyrics to a verse in Stronger go like this:

I’d do anything for a blonde dike. and she’ll do anything if the time’s right.

Kanye said this: I did anything for that blonde dike. And she did anything when the time’s right “

Well that didn’t sit well with Wiz, who CONFRONTED Kanye when he left the stage. Wiz just wanted to mend things but Kanye refused.

“Kanye said something to Wiz and next thing you know security and people’s entourages were everywhere pushing and shoving, it could have got real ugly.”

Wiz is denying anything happened, but come on, its Ye. He is a time bomb. If you light the wick to the dynamite, it will explode.

THE BIG STL STORY IS:

Cardinals third baseman David Freese told reporters after Sundays game against The Braves that there was not much he could do about the play that broke his hand Sunday.. Freese was hit by a pitch from Scott Linebrink in the sixth inning Sunday at Atlanta.

On Monday, the news was not good. The Cardinals put Freese, on the 15-day disabled list. The Cardinals activated infielder-outfielder Allen Craig from the DL on Monday before the start of a four-game series against the Florida Marlins.

Though his return will not come that quickly. General manager John Mozeliak said Freese would be out nine to 12 weeks. Freese and manager Tony La Russa went for the more optimistic side of the equation and are looking at him being out eight weeks. Either way, it will probably be July before Freese is playing again.

They are Former Parkway West and University of Missouri standout quarterback Blaine Gabbert was taken with the No. 10 pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Former Webster Groves star Adrian Clayborn was selected in the first round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 20 pick. Clayborn was one of the nation’s top defensive ends during his collegiate career at Iowa. And, former McCluer North standout Keith Williams was selected in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Williams was a college standout at Nebraska.

As the NFL re-lockout continues, there have been talks of whether the St Louis Rams will have a home stadium to play in come next February. On Feb. 1, the lease holders of the Edward Jones Dome, home of the Rams stadium, must have in place the construction of a state of the art facility that matches up to other stadiums in the country as part of the lease agreement which is up in 2015. But as of today, the stadium lags behind as far as its new developments.

So the issue is who will pay for the renovations before the deadline or receive a stuff penalty for it by breaking the lease agreement

Reportedly, there's no dollar figure yet and no detailed talks have taken place among the group of governments that built the downtown stadium in 1995 which is managed by the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission.

.

The lease states that come 2015, the Dome must be a "top-tier" facility — one that's superior to three-quarters of all NFL venues.

The CVC must present The Rams Organization with a financing plan on how to make the venue among the league's best.

Or else. Hmm, well God made the world in six days and rested on the seventh, and it takes nine months for a baby to be born. So miracles can happen.

WORDZ TO THE WHYZ???????????????????????????????????

Why do people think terrorism is over after Osama got killed? And why people think Osama isnt dead? Why did many journalists across the country make the mistake saying Obama was killed instead of Osama being killed? And why isnt Washington cohorts giving Obama full credit for the Osama killings? Why did Kid Rock receive an award by the NAACP? And when he received it, why did he say although he has a confederate flag, he love black people? Why are the Birthers going to appeal Obama;s birth certificate's validity ? Why does it seem bifriendly model Amber Rose is getting the best of the publicity between the riff between her current boo Wiz Khalifa and her past boo Kanye West (Is her poonany that damn jood? LOL) ? Why is there so much riff going on with the respective promoters Live Nation and Daryl Oliver for having their events Martin Lawrence show and the St Louis Music Fest on the same night at different venues? Why are St. Louis highways nothin but construction everywhere? Why is it that The Loft Nightclub continues to remain in biz after its share of violent acts in and outside of the club but fellow venues such as Club Society, Lush, Karma and now The Label haven't had the same longevity? Why are people fussin that Obama;s press conference interrupted the last minutes of the firing on The Apprentice? And why did Trump get all uptight when he was roasted by Pres Obama during the White House gala? And why was he even there? Why does Rockhouse Ent's Orlando Watson give off the look and swagger of rapper T.I. each time we see him? LOL Why did Will Ferrell shave Conan Obrien's beard on his talk show? Why was Chingy calling Monique "ma'am" when he was a guest on her show? Why does it seem as though Beyonce's new single, "Girls": is not catching on? And why did she release it at the same time as her Destiny;s Child colleague Kelly Rowland's a bonafide hit "Motivation."?

BLACK REP BITZ

Black Pearl Sings!

By Frank Higgins

THRU May 15

Directed by Andrea Frye Jailed in a Texas prison, AlbertaPearl” Johnson has little hope for release and even less for reconnecting with her missing daughter. That is until Susannah Mullally, a song collector on a mission to record pieces of African-American culture, overhears Pearl singing while on a visit to the prison. Through her music, Pearl has the unexpected opportunity to earn her freedom and search for her daughter. This work harnesses race relations and the rich oral history of the African-American community to build a tale that is funny, touching, and compelling.
